Clenbuterol mode of action, indications, dosage, side effects, contraindications, pharmaceutical form, storage.Mode of action of Clenbuterol:Clenbuterol stimulates predominantly beta-adrenergic receptors. It has bronchodilator (dilate bronchial lumen) action, which is conditioned by the direct relaxing effect on bronchial musculature. It liquefies tenacious secret (detachable) of bronchi and promotes a better secretion. It may increase the heart rate a little. It has also tocolytic (relaxing the muscles of the uterus) effect.Indications:Prevention and docking (removal) of a bronchospasm (sudden narrowing of the lumen of the bronchi) with bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis.Dosage of Clenbuterol:Adults and children over 12 years are ordered a dose of Clenbuterol 0,01-0,02 mg 2 times a day orally. If a bronchospasm is strong, the daily dose may be increased to 0.08 mg. After improvement the dose is reduced. The daily dose for children 0,012 mg per 1 kg of body weight – 2-3 intakes. Children aged 6-12 years are prescribed 0,015 mg 2 times a day, 4-6 years – 0.01 mg 2 times a day, up to 4 years – 0,005 mg 2 times a day; for children 2-4 years old (weight 12-16 kg) – 2 x 0,075 mg; for children 8-24 months (body weight 8-12 kg) – 0,005 mg 2 times a day; for children up to 8 months, body weight 4-8 kg appoint 0,0025 mg 2 times a day. Side effects of Clenbuterol:Tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), beats (cardiac arrhythmias), trembling fingers, anxiety, headache, allergic reaction in the form of skin rashes. Dry mouth, nausea, low blood pressure are possible.Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Clenbuterol, thyrotoxicosis (thyroid disease), tachycardia, tachyarrhythmia (rapid irregular heart rate), aortic stenosis subaortalny (non-inflammatory disease of the muscle tissue of the left ventricle of the heart, characterized by a sharp narrowing of the cavity), acute myocardial infarction, and pregnancy. Pharmaceutical form:Tablets of 0.02 mg clenbuterol hydrochloride; syrup (5 ml -0,01 mg clenbuterol hydrochloride) and syrup for children (5 ml – 0,005 mg clenbuterol hydrochloride) in bottles.Storage of Clenbuterol:In the dark place at +15 +30 “C.Synonyms:Contraspazmin, Spiropent.
